Position Overview

The Assistant Production Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the commissary production and packing departments, ensuring all products are properly prepared, packaged, and distributed to retail locations. This role focuses on team supervision, quality control, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise packing, labeling, and shipment of all prepared foods including soups, sauces, meals, and baked goods.
• Verify production summaries across shifts to ensure accuracy and completion.
• Ensure all products are properly labeled, dated, and meet quality standards.
• Monitor packing timelines, temperature controls, and product integrity during distribution.
• Oversee staff scheduling and daily workflow to meet business needs.
• Conduct internal time studies to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Track and report waste, identifying opportunities for reduction.
• Support process improvements, including automation and equipment enhancements.
• Maintain compliance with operational standards, food safety, and company policies.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support operations.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising teams in a production or food environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods, including in refrigerated environments
